A seven-year-old Texas boy was found dead inside a washing machine on July 28, only hours after his parents notified him missing. Troy Khoeler was found after being lost for around 2-3 hours. The boy’s dad was at home at the time, while his mom was working a shift at a nearby hospital, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s office.
Troy’s parents filed a missing person report at 5:20 a.m., according to authorities. The youngster was last seen in the Birnamwood subdivision’s 4400 block of Rosegate. Officers from the Homicide Unit came and questioned the parents. That’s when authorities decided to perform a thorough search of the residence.
At 7:20 a.m., authorities located Troy fully dressed in the top-load washing machine in the garage. Lt. Robert Minchew of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said he couldn’t tell if the machine’s lid was shut or not. Troy is a foster child who may have been adopted by the family in 2019, but authorities are still investigating.

According to Minchew, the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine Troy’s particular reason for death. He remarked that t They don’t know what occurred, but they plan to discover it. If he was murdered by the washing machine or slain and thrown in it, they’re simply so far from that, he can’t say.
According to Minchew, the investigators discovered “not a lot of history” of calls from the house.
Police are currently investigating the incident, and no accusations or arrests have been made. It’s unclear how the child wound up in the washing machine, which is located in the family’s garage. The parents were detained and taken to the sheriff’s office for further questioning. There are no additional kids in the household. Authorities were unable to clarify if wrongdoing was detected or if he entered the machine on his own, however they did claim he was clothed when he was located.
As per a father’s relative, they learnt about what occurred via the news. He refused to talk on camera, but said the family was caught aback and is sad.
