Cherelle Griner, Brittney Griner’s wife, is speaking out for the first time about her wife’s prolonged captivity in Russia, where Brittney was sentenced to nine years in jail.
Cherelle shares the variety of feelings she’s feeling as she awaits the outcome of her wife’s case in an interview with Gayle King. Cherelle’s top priority, as many of us who are adored and in love comprehend, is to bring her wife home safely.
The core of the media frenzy around Brittney’s continued imprisonment is a very personal story. Cherelle and Brittney have been together for years, and they’ve been there for one other through Olympic triumphs and law school. They are now unable to speak consistently, and Cherelle appears to be left only to ponder and care about the person she loves the most in the world.
Cherelle explains in a preview of the interview, she never imagined that their president and the president of another country would be sitting down to negotiate her wife’s liberation. So, despite the fact that everyone has a different idea of what BG is, it feels to jer like she’s a hostage.
She continues, it frightens her since, in movies, those scenarios don’t often end nicely. Maybe they will never see their loved one again.
This is, sadly, the true reality for Cherelle and Brittney. More from the interview may be found in the video below.
