Paige Price was on vacation at Panama City Beach with her family. The manager of the local Waffle House informed the staff that it was time for a shift change as she was peacefully eating her lunch. It’s an occurrence that allegedly doesn’t happen without prayer at this specific spot.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and got together. Some prayed together in a hushed murmur, while others held hands or removed their caps. Paige explained that they were sitting down and simply eating. She overheard the manager say something about a shift change or whatever. And she looked over and saw them forming a circle and holding hands.
Paige couldn’t believe the blatant expression of religion in a public area, causing her to capture a photo in a society where people are continuously shocked by acts of Christianity. When the prayer concluded, the participants separated and went about their own businesses. Prayer was clearly a widespread practice at this Waffle House, and each staff appeared unafraid about conducting it in front of customers.
Paige was moved by their efforts and shared the image on Facebook, sharing her opinions and emotions about what she saw. Paige said in the post that some might think she is crazy for doing this, and that’s fine. Yes, she photographed the waffle house employees.
She looked over and saw all of the workers gathered in a circle, some holding hands, some taking their hats off, Paige added. She is quite sure she had a strange expression on her face because she had to question herself several times if this was genuine, if they were really going to pray before each of them went their own ways, if they were really about to PRAY and not worry who they offended.
Paige first appeared to be concerned by the prayer, but then went on to express how amazed she was by the brazen expression of faith. She asked why she was doing this? The world that she has grown up in for 23 years is changing quickly and to witness this simply made her heart happy. Perhaps there is still hope for the country. She congratulates these folks for speaking out for what they believe in without fear of hurting others or being judged by others.
Paige stated that she has received several responses thanking her for sharing the post. Individuals also messaged her, saying they felt her article will lose the staff their jobs. So far, however, this has not occurred. Waffle House’s corporate team members stated that they neither promote nor prevent staff from praying, and they were pleased to hear that Paige liked her visit.
This picture depicts how the world should be, Paige said. If Christians keep their faith and behaviors to themselves, not only do the critics gain when they claim these activities are objectionable, but we also fail to promote God’s word.
It’s mostly because of all the weird stuff going on in the world right now that she snapped the photo and published it, Paige explained. She means, most individuals are hesitant to do it in public, so it was sort of like the right opportunity to snap a photo.
Kudos to this fearless manager who runs that Waffle House while respecting God and blessing his staff. She is a terrific example to her staff and a great leader in her tiny part of the country. If you are upset by prayer, you should avoid this restaurant, but I will go if I ever have the opportunity.
