Eve Plumb will be remembered for her portrayal of Jan Brady, The Brady Bunch’s shy middle child who was always in the shadow of her elder, more popular sister Marcia (“Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!”).
Plumb has often attempted to separate herself from the childhood role that made her renowned, but fans will always remember and appreciate her for her classic portrayal as Jan.
According to a recent red carpet appearance in which she debuted a new look, the actress is now 64 years old and still looks fantastic. Read about Eve Plumb’s career and view current images of her.
Plumb, who was born on April 29, 1958, in Burbank, California, started her acting career as a youngster, performing in TV advertisements and series such as Lassie. Plumb claims she never intended to become a kid celebrity.
She portrayed Jan on The Brady Bunch, one of television’s most memorable sitcoms, from 1969 through 1974. Jan epitomized adolescent awkwardness and insecurities; plots often center on her feeling left out or resentful of her siblings. One noteworthy and often parodied incident involves her inventing a bogus lover called “George Glass.”
The Brady Bunch was a smash throughout its run and much more so in syndication. Plumb appeared in a number of sitcoms as a guest star after the program ended. She also appeared as a young prostitute in Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway and its sequel.
Plumb, on the other hand, fought to find her place in show business when she outgrew her child star phase but was still known to many as Jan Brady.
But she was also hesitant to reprise her role as Jan Brady: she was the only Brady Bunch cast member who did not appear in the much-maligned variety program The Brady Bunch Hour, which was replaced by “Fake Jan,” Geri Reischl.
She did, however, reprise her role as Jan Brady in the 1981 special The Brady Girls Get Married, which spawned the comedy The Brady Brides.
Plumb has continued to perform in non-Brady endeavors, including theater shows, a guest starring role on Law & Order: SVU, and Mrs. Murdoch in Grease Live. She has also been a successful painter.
But it’s accepted that she’ll always be recognized first and foremost as Jan Brady.
Eve Plumb is 64 years old and will be 65 later this month. She’s still going strong and looks great. She recently appeared on the red carpet at the premiere of Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, flaunting a new style with short hair, and many have praised her appearance on social media.
Eve Plumb is still stunning! We like The Brady Bunch and her portrayal of Jan Brady!
