Some of you may know how frustrating it is when you realize you’ve gotten on the wrong bus. Imagine getting on the wrong bus after your first day of high school.
15-year-old Tom O’Brien was riding home with his school friends after the first day of school when he noticed another young teen on the bus was crying. Tom asked him what happened and the student said he was on the wrong bus, and getting further and further away from his home. So Tom did something truly outstanding. He told the boy, “It’s ok… you’ll be home soon.”
Then, he took out his cell phone and called a cab company to pick up the boy at the next stop. He then gave him some money to pay for the cab fare.
At the next stop, the boy got off the bus with two of Tom’s friends and they made sure to wait with the boy until the cab picked him up.
When the cab driver found out the young boy’s story, he got him home safely and refused to take any money from him. So the next day at school, the young boy gave Tom back his money. And I would imagine he probably thanked him, as well, for being so kind and understanding.
