While, the groom’s best man stood behind him, looking stunned before fumbling uncomfortably with his phone while party music continued to play and disco lights flashed around them.
The groom stayed on stage as if nothing had occurred, peering out across the silent throng that had been celebrating the pair on seconds before.
It’s unclear what transpired after the filming ended.
The event took place in Uzbekistan, where there has been no response from law police.
Arranged weddings have a long history in the country, albeit they are less popular nowadays. It is unknown whether this was an arranged marriage.
The wedding video has gone popular on social media in Central Asia, with angry reactions on Twitter.
‘This is very terrible,’ remarked one user on the social networking platform. ‘I hope she finds the strength to prosecute him and hold him accountable for his acts.’
‘What horror!’ said another. ‘It’s a good thing this was posted on the internet to disgrace this nasty individual. But I wish she may be separated from him. How can her parents stand by and witness this? Is he some kind of mafia goon? What a heinous crime.’
‘It’s horrible how much this has been commonplace,’ added a third. ‘I hope she gets away from him sooner rather than later,’ she said, along with three broken-heart emojis.
Surprisingly, this is not the first time a video of a man yelling at his new bride has surfaced in the nation.
In 2019, a video of a similar occurrence in Uzbekistan went viral, showing a man violently hitting out at his bride after she taunted him by attempting to take away his wedding cake.
In the prior incident, the groom strikes an unnamed woman so hard that she stumbles backwards onto a seat behind her.
One of the astonished guests soothes the bride as she stands back up, while a man standing behind the groom grabs him.
‘That guy has to be punished severely on human rights and the wife needs to apply for an annulment, ASAP!’ said one social media user at the time.
