Laura Muse of Greensboro, North Carolina, is one of several parents who confess to spying on their children’s phones.
Every night, the mental health therapist takes her 15-year-old son’s phone before he goes to bed.
She also monitors his and her 17-year-old daughter’s online and personal communications.
She owns their phones, she pays for the phones, the 41-year-old stated. She can read them whenever she wishes.
She went on to say that it’s how she ‘manages her ship.’
Muse has also discussed her parenting principles on TikTok.
She can be seen standing with her son in a viral video while music with the lines ‘This is no big deal’ plays.
“Me every time I look through my teenager’s phone,” the text on the screen says.

The video has received over one million views, and hundreds of people have commented that they agree with Muse.
Others, though, have complained in the comments that it is a ‘infringement of privacy.’
Muse responded to the remarks of invasion of privacy, saying that one should pay for the phone, and when one has nothing to hide since they can freely speak about life, it’s no big issue… Sorry he/she doesn’t have that in their life.
