A number of individuals approached Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson as they walked toward their car in New York City on Wednesday night. When one fan went too near to the famous pair, causing Wilson to tumble, they were encircled by guards.
As the 65-year-old actress recovered her footing and shouted, “Stop it,” her husband of 34 years spun around and raised his hands to the crowd. He then told the supporters to “back the f*ck off” his wife, motioning them to do so. “Knocking over my wife?” the two-time Oscar winner continued before turning around and following Wilson into the car, according to accounts.

They married in 1988 and have 2 kids, Chester “Chet” Hanks and Truman Theodore Hanks. Hanks and Wilson initially met on the set of ABC’s comedy Bosom Buddies in 1981, before co-starring in the 1985 film Volunteers. They began as pals since Hanks wedded his college love, Samantha Lewes, when he was only 21 years old; Hanks wedded Lewes in 1978 and divorced in 1987. The Toy Story star wedded Wilson about a year later, and the rest is history.
