Single mother suffers burns to 60% of her body after running into burning home to save her four children

A single woman from Chelsea, Michigan, is recuperating in the hospital after running inside her blazing home to rescue her four small kids.

Mikala Vish’s house caught fire while she was indoors with her kids, but she was able to get them all out safely. She and her 6-year-old were both burned, yet they all survived because of her bravery.

Mikala was at home with her children, aged 13, 6, 4, and 9 months, when the fire broke out.

Considering the quick spread of the fire, she was able to evacuate three of her kids. Torin, her 6-year-old son, was still inside.

According to her mother, Susan Sutton, “it was an inferno and she simply prepared herself for it until she discovered Torin.”

Mikala had second and third-degree burns on 60 percent of her body, and Torin had wounds “on his hands, feet, and back.”

The mom of four is conscious and alert of her position despite being “wrapped up like a mummy” and unable to speak. She and her kid will both have skin transplant surgery shortly.

Brynna Klink, the wife of one of the firemen who rushed to the fire, launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist Mikala and her family.

“Every mother believes she would do it, but she does not have to. “It’s never a genuine thing,” Brynna explained. “This mother put her life in danger for her kids, and she lost it all.”

Wow! Mikala is an amazing mother. We all claim we’d sprint into a burning building to rescue our loved ones, but who wonders what we’d truly do when the moment arises?

Please share this on Facebook and keep Mikala and her family in your prayers.
