Steve Burns Will Figure Out Blue’s Clues Again 21 Yrs After He Left The Show.

Steve Burns is ready to make all Blue’s Clues fans’ holiday weekend unforgettable!

The former Nickelodeon anchor will make a cameo in Friday’s episode, “The Case of the Missing Thinking Chair.” Burns, 49, will play a detective opposite current series actor Joshua Dela Cruz and will write and direct the episode.

The forthcoming show will also serve as a reunion for the three hosts, who will team up to find the missing thinking chair. Fans of the long-running series will also see the hosts reunited on Monday when the Paramount+ feature Blue’s Big City Adventure premieres on Nickelodeon on Monday night.

Fans may recall that Burns hosted the children’s program from 1996 to 2002, and that Donovan Patton, who played Steve’s brother Joe, took over as host until Dela Cruz took over in 2019.

In December, the three said that they had maintained a strong connection during the show’s creation.

They really are friends, Burns said. They do socialize with each other, and he believes they’d be friends even if they weren’t on the show. Dela Cruz expressed the same feelings while also thanking Burns for the wonderful reception he received from the minute he auditioned for the job.

Steve ambushed him at his audition, Dela Cruz said. He came out from behind the curtains, and Dela said, ‘Hey, Steve.’ What he liked most about the meeting was that as soon as he opened his mouth, he felt relaxed, as if he fit in, and as if he was treated seriously.

Then, beyond that, getting to know Steve and Donovan on a personal level was so incredibly cool since they are cut from the same cloth, he said. They’re cousins on the show, and every time they get together, it’s like a family reunion, but the family that one loves to see.

Blue’s Clues’ “The Case of the Missing Thinking Chair” premieres on Nickelodeon on Friday at 11:30 a.m. ET, and Blue’s Big City Adventure premieres on the network on Monday at 7 p.m. ET.
