A stray dog’s life might be difficult. They are forced to fend for themselves; without a house, they must rely on the streets for food and shelter.
It’s especially terrible when the stray is a puppy. One small puppy was with her alone, with just an old shoe for company. When a rescuer came upon the sad dog, he stepped forward to offer her a new life.
Goran Marinkovic from Serbia is a guy who is dedicated to assisting all stray animals in his town. He presently feeds over 100 stray animals, which he pays for out of his own cash.
He said that he rescues endangered animals that live on the streets and cares for them because he loves them. He feeds abandoned animals on the street who do not receive food from humans and do not have owners. Their numbers are steadily increasing.
But of all the animals he’s rescued, one dog he found in March sticks out. When he discovered the small dog, she was all alone and fending for herself, and she was sheltering in an old shoe.
After hearing her cries, he discovered the dog under a mound of trash. Goran said he heard crying coming from the rocks as he passed through a narrow pathway. She was freezing, hungry, and thirsty, and he had food, so he immediately handed her salami.
Goran observed no mother or other pups. He realized the pup was on her alone and doubted she’d last much longer in the elements with just an old boot to keep her warm.
So he decided to assist the dog, which she gladly welcomed.
She was completely exhausted, Goran said. She realized that he might be her only chance, so she lay down and surrendered to fate.
He called the stray dog Coco, and after she was secure, he saw she had a bright, cheery demeanor and was nice with people.
Goran then went to work on finding Coco a permanent home. He received adoption inquiries after posting her story on social media and found her the ideal family in Germany.
He claims he stays in contact with the family and gets images of Coco, which demonstrate how much the dog has grown and changed since last year. Coco, according to Goran, is presently traveling with her new family.
Coco has a happy ending, but Goran is far from done. He intends to continue caring for as many stray animals as he can, hoping that they, like Coco, will find loving homes.
Every dog rescued from the streets who finds a home is a victory for him, he said.
It takes a special individual to come up and assist stray animals. We’re overjoyed that Coco has found a loving permanent home—she’s come a long way from living in a shoe!
