Nick Cannon recalls his late son Zen’s radiance.
On his late son Zen’s second birthday, the Masked Singer host, 42, shared a series of images on his Instagram Story. Cannon and his guests are featured in one of the photographs, surrounded by balloons loaded with strands of light.
“Happy Birthday, Zen,” he said. “We Love You, Son…”
Additionally, Cannon shared a photo of the celebration that a friend had taken while watching the TV personality move the balloons. “Celebrating Zen’s light,” wrote the buddy.
“Love you both for being warrior parents to this magical soul, who reminds us everyday life here on earth is precious, but the spirit is divine and infinite to this magical universe. @nickcannon @itsalyssaemm.”
Cannon and model Alyssa Scott, 29, have two children together: son Zen, six months, and daughter Halo, six months. Zen, the couple’s son, died of brain cancer in December 2021.
In January 2022, the TV star paid tribute to his late son on Instagram. Cannon posed with five of his kids in the shot, featuring Moroccan and Monroe, his 12-year-old twins with ex-wife Mariah Carey.
“Still missing my little dude…,” Cannon captioned the shot. His spirit and light were strong #ZensLight.”
He said, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord,” 2Corinthians 5:8 The whole family, We ALL miss you young King! Forever Our Angel!🙏🏾❤️🩹👼🏾.”
Cannon previously told about addressing Zen’s death to his other kids, characterizing the session as “quite emotional.”
But their understanding and being there for him may have helped him keep it together and cope with it, he said. Specifically, Roc and Roe. They accompanied them throughout the voyage.
Cannon said that he was with Zen when his son died on December 5, 2021. He and Scott had a short time with a true angel, and his heart is devastated.
He said that he wishes he could have done more, spent more time with him, and taken more pictures. He wishes he could have hugged him for a little longer.
