Chrissy Teigen Explains Baby Boy Wren’s Name Has Sentimental Surrogate Connection: ‘Forever Connected’

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend named their newborn son after considering the influence of their surrogacy on their family.

On Wednesday, the 37-year-old Cravings cookbook author shocked the world by disclosing that she and the 44-year-old EGOT winner had just had a newborn boy, Wren Alexander.

Teigen addressed their surrogate Alexandra in the long announcement post, saying, “We want to say thank you for this incredible gift you have given us.”

“And we are so happy to tell the world he is here, with a name forever connected to you, Wren Alexander Stephens.”

Teigen praised Alexandra earlier in her article, calling her the most amazing, loving, and kind surrogate they could ever fathom.

She went on to say that from the moment they met her, she knew she was the one. All of their hopes and ambitions came true. She wished to be her friend; she desired their kids to play together; she wished to have dinner with her; she wanted to lay her head on her belly and feel the hiccups and kicks. She wished they would be in their lives for as long as time would allow.

Alexandra replied to the picture, expressing her gratitude to the Stephens family, who received their two younger children in September 2021 after losing a newborn boy, Jack, at 20 weeks.

“Thank you for choosing me ❤️ For making this whole experience so wonderful,” she wrote. “For loving me and my family whole heartedly. It was truly an honor bringing perfect Wren into the world with you right by my side❤️.”

Wren Alexander was born on June 19th, joining the couple’s daughters Esti Maxine, 5 months, and Luna Simone, 7, as well as son Miles Theodore, 4 years.
