David Beckham once had the ideal excuse for kissing his kids on the lips.
The football legend has long been chastised for the manner in which he expresses love to his four kids, with some considering the lip-on-lip kissing between parents and children unusual.
Beckham has subsequently responded to the criticism and revealed why he likes to kiss his children on the lips.
Beckham has regularly shared photographs of himself kissing his youngest kid, Harper, who was born in 2011 to David and Victoria Beckham.
Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 20, and Cruz, 18, are the couple’s three kids.
While many people thought the postings were strange, Beckham justified his parenting approach, explaining that the gesture was nothing more than an innocent way to convey love for one’s child.

Charlotte Reznick, a certified child educational psychologist and former UCLA associate clinical professor of psychology, remarked on the long-standing custom of celebrity parents kissing their children on the lips in images.
The custom, which has been adopted by other famous parents like Jamie Oliver, Gino D’Acampo, and Hilary Duff, has prompted an intense discussion regarding the ramifications of this gesture, even if it is made with good intentions.
“If mommy kisses Daddy on the mouth and vice versa, what does that mean when I, a little girl or boy, kiss my parents on the mouth?” Reznick told in 2015.
But not all psychologists concur with Reznick, with Australian clinical psychologist Heather Irvine-Rundle calling her remarks an awful thing to say to parents.
