Luke Bryan Says Teaching His Son to Drive Has Been a ‘Nightmare’: ‘He has no idea what he’s doing.’

Luke Bryan believes his kid isn’t yet ready to hit the road.

The country musician recently appeared on Katie & Company with Audacy, where he spoke candidly about his experience teaching his 15-year-old son Thomas “Bo” Boyer to drive.

He’s 15, so he’s doing the whole learner’s permit nightmare, Bryan said. At the moment, he’s not a very good driver, so they’re having to work with him very hard.

He’s extremely annoyed right now as he thinks he understands how to drive, but he has no idea what he’s doing, continued the artist. He believes he is competent since he can operate a 4-wheeler or Polaris, but he is not.

Bryan and his wife Caroline have two children: Bo, 12, and Tatum “Tate” Christopher, 12.

Bryan recently said that, apart from the driving lessons, this present stage with his boys is proving to be one of the most thrilling thus far.

As they grow older, it’s easier to let them tag along, he said in July 2021. They grow into little men, and they function as functional little microcosms of him. Their personalities are quite different. They become one’s friends. They’re still one’s kids, and one still has to discipline them and teach them the ins and outs of life, but they actually become one’s pal.

And he is certainly in his golden years, the American Idol judge said. It’s like the sweet spot of being a parent right now, when one can let them tag along.
