There’s lots of love between Pink and Gwen Stefani.
Pink hailed the “Hollaback Girl” singer in a beautiful Instagram post after Stefani opened up for the “So What” performer during her two gigs at BST Hyde Park in London over the weekend.
“I have known you for a long time, and I have looked up to you like a big sister. You’re the coolest and kindest, and you always have the most swag in the room,” Pink, 43, wrote beside a snapshot of the duo laughing onstage.
“Thank you for spending your weekend with me. We have so much more to cover,” she added, adding that they’ll talk more soon. “I’m gonna call you tomorrow lol. I love you.”
Stefani, 53, expressed her gratitude in the post’s comments area.”i love YOU! thank u for allowing me to share the stage with u this weekend,” she added.
“U are such a rockstar, u speak the truth, and i am constantly inspired by u!!!” said the No Doubt singer. cheers to many more moments like this.”
Pink and Stefani performed with Gayle, Tinashe, Sam Ryder, Sam Tompkins, Lyra, Maddie Zahm, and others during the Hyde Park gigs, which were part of Pink’s Summer Carnival Tour.
Pink and Stefani have been pals for almost a decade. They collaborated in 2012 at the iHeartRadio Music Festival to perform No Doubt’s “Just a Girl,” which Pink had long used as a mash-up with her track “Funhouse.”
Pink’s Beautiful Trauma World Tour stopped in Los Angeles in 2018, where they played the duet version of “Just a Girl” once again.
They could have paired up for an even more famous performance if the hands of time had turned differently. Pink stated earlier this year in an interview that she and Stefani were asked to perform with Madonna in the iconic 2003 MTV Video Music Awards performance, in which the Queen of Pop kissed both Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
The rumor arose when Jennifer Lopez said that she had also been requested to participate in the event. “I think we were all [invited],” Pink stated at the time. “I think Madonna wanted to kiss all of us. I was in Costa Rica at the time, having all kinds of fun with my boyfriend, Carey Hart. Gwen Stefani was also invited, I remember. It was a bunch of us.”
