Taylor Swift was watching the Kansas City Chiefs game on Sunday from Travis Kelce’s suite, so the tight end knew he had to put on a strong performance. The tight end delivered with a spectacular touchdown.
With about seven minutes left in the third quarter, Kelce, 33, grabbed the ball in the end zone to give the Kansas City Chiefs a 41-0 lead against the Chicago Bears. While Swift, also 33, was spotted dancing and bouncing about in his room, the NFL star was seen dancing in celebration.
The two-time Super Bowl winner and the singer of “Anti-Hero” have been the subject of dating rumors for the last several weeks, and on Sunday, when Swift attended his game, the rumors came to a head. The celebrity cheered while wearing a red-and-white Chiefs blazer and was regularly seen joking about and laughing with his mother, Donna Kelce.
On Thursday, Kelce addressed the rumor for the first time, saying on The Pat McAfee Show that he recently “threw the ball in her court.”
The tight end said he told Swift, “I’ve seen you rock the stage at Arrowhead [Stadium]. You might have to come see me rock the stage at Arrowhead and see which one’s a little more lit,” before adding to McAfee, “we’ll see what happens in the near future.”
Three days later, when Swift was discovered in his apartment, it turned out to be in the near future.

Following his attendance at her Eras Tour event in Kansas City, Missouri, in July, Kelce became the first person to openly admit that he had a crush on the Grammy winner. He discussed how he had intended to meet her and exchange phone numbers after the concert on the podcast New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, which is co-hosted by his brother Jason.
Kelce, though, said he was unsuccessful in his attempt to offer Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce said, adding that he was “a little butthurt” at the time that he was unable to carry out his plan.
