According to court documents, Kevin Costner’s estranged wife, Christine, is asking for $248K a month in child support.

In the middle of their bitter divorce, Christine Costner, Kevin Costner’s divorced wife, is demanding $248,000 per month in child support, according to court filings.

In recent court records submitted by the former handbag designer’s counsel, the amount requested is reported as “$248,000 total for all three children.”

Christine, 49, claims in the filing that the sum is less than the amount required to maintain the kids in their accustomed lifestyle and is requesting that Costner, 68, also pay 100% of the tuition for their three children, Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13, at a private school, as well as their costs for extracurricular activities and sports.

The motion for order, which was submitted on Friday in the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Barbara, makes no mention of spousal maintenance.

The paperwork stated Kevin’s 2022 income as $19,517,0641 and their family’s costs as $6,645,285, which did not include taxes. After deducting all costs and taxes, the family’s net income was $7,595,520. Frequent trips to the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Aspen are among the costs, as is frequent entertaining of visitors, which calls for caterers or chefs. In addition, it costs around $2 million a year to maintain their enormous number of homes.

In court filings previously submitted by Costner’s lawyers, he claimed that under the terms of their prenuptial agreement, Christine had 30 days to vacate the couple’s joint residence, which was held by the Yellowstone Star and is worth an estimated $145 million. That deadline has passed since she filed on May 1, and she is still on the property.

In the documents, Costner stipulates that he will also pay “100% of certain child-related costs, including private school tuition, books, fees, uniforms, school trips, children’s sports, camps, and other agreed-upon extracurricular activities,” in addition to $38,000 per month in child support, health insurance, unreimbursed medical expenses, and therapy costs for their children.

Costner also offers to give Christine a $10,000 advance to help with her relocation expenses, in addition to paying $30,000 monthly toward a rental house for her. Additionally, he says she is welcome to employ his workers to help with the transfer.

Additionally, according to the actor’s court papers, Costner has already given Christine $1 million, as required by the prenuptial agreement.

The Field of Dreams actor and his wife of 18 years were divorcing after she filed for divorce, his spokesman confirmed on May 2. Christine said that they had split up on April 11 and gave the reason as irreconcilable disagreements.

Costner also requested shared custody in his later-filed answer, citing irreconcilable differences. In addition, a prenup was stated in the actor’s or director’s file in relation to spousal support, legal expenses, and property.

His legal team listed the following as “separate property”: “Miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects; Respondent’s earnings and accumulations before marriage, during marriage, and from and after the date of separation; [and] there are additional separate property assets and obligations of each party as mandated by the parties’ Premarital Agreement.”

Additionally, they state, “Petitioner to vacate Respondent’s separate property residences in accordance with the provisions of Paragraph 9.A of the parties’ Premarital Agreement.”

Last month, Costner’s representative released a statement in which they stated that it is with profound sadness that circumstances beyond his control have taken place that led to Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.

After that, a source told that Costner wasn’t in favor of divorcing his wife: “If he could change the situation, he would.”

A family source told the following week that while the actor “wasn’t shocked” by his estranged wife’s filing, it “was an unpleasant surprise” for him.

“But this is not what he wanted,” the source said. But he was aware of Christine’s discontent.

According to the source, Christine wishes they could spend family time at their Santa Barbara home, but Kevin is not around very much during filming.

The source said that she had a difficult time without him. He shouldn’t go headfirst into another endeavor, says Christine. Since last year, he has been consumed with making Horizon. She wasn’t pleased with it.

In September 2004, the couple got married. Costner is the father of four older children from prior relationships, including Cayden, Hayes, and Grace, as well as Annie, Lily, Joe, and Liam.
