Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan have reached a significant milestone!
On Sunday, the Back to the Future actor, 62, and his actress wife, 63, paid romantic tributes to each other on Instagram to commemorate their 35th wedding anniversary.
“35 years!!!” Pollan captioned her Instagram image, which included a shot of the Bright Lights, Big City cast vacationing together.
“Happy anniversary, my love,” she continued. ”Here’s to many more glorious adventures together. I could not love you more.”
“Likewise, so beautiful, just like you,” Fox said of the vacation shot. “Happy Anniversary!”
The Family Ties actor wrote his own anniversary greeting to his wife, which he published with a series of vintage images of the pair with their arms around each other.
“35 years of [laughter], living, listening, and loving you @tracy.pollan,” he captioned a photo on Instagram. “Thank you for it all. Forever yours, Mike.”
Pollan wrote in response to her husband’s sweet remarks, “Love you so much!!!”
Jennifer Grey wished the couple well on their social media postings, writing, “love you guys” and “two of my favorite people.” Clark Gregg, Grey’s ex-husband from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., also expressed his love. “You guys are goals!” he said.
Last month, Fox published another heartfelt message, wishing his wife of more than three decades a happy 63rd birthday.
She showers the individuals she loves with love, she shows them how she feels, the Spin City alum wrote, paraphrasing lyrics from James Taylor’s “Shower the People.”
In his touching homage to Pollan, the actor also referred to her as his forever summer girl, his love, his best friend, and the most lovely, wonderful mom to their four terrific children.
Before establishing one of Hollywood’s most lasting relationships, Fox and Pollan were just two actors trying to make it.
They met in 1985 after being hired as each other’s love interests on Family Ties, but they stayed friends since they were both seeing other people at the time—co-actors Nancy McKeon and Kevin Bacon.
Everything changed when the couple reconnected on television in the 1988 movie Bright Lights, Big City. Sparks ignited between the then-single stars, and Fox proposed within seven months.
Then, in the summer of 1988, the pair said, “I do,” and they’ve been together ever since. Sam, 34, Aquinnah and Schuyler, 28, and Esmé, 21, are their four kids.
After battling hurdles such as Fox’s Parkinson’s illness, the couple spoke in October about the key to their long-lasting love.
It’s assuming the best from the individual one lives with until one is actually presented with the worst, Pollan said. And it’s the same with their parenting: It’s also how they are with their children, she said, adding that it’s all about acceptance.
