Mom claims she’ll ‘never do a parent’s race again’ after face planting and accidentally mooning on sports day.

The mother who collapsed during her daughter’s sports day and exposed her behind in front of the whole school has spoken up about how she is doing a year later.

Katie Hannaford fell at a sports day event last year (15 June 2022) and went viral for accidentally mooning instructors, parents, and kids on the special day.

She has now disclosed how the school run has been for her and her children, as well as if she plans to participate in this year’s impending sports day after the bum-baring mishap.

Katie spoke about that fateful day last June when she suffered the accident of all misfortunes and, by a terrible twist of destiny, bared her rear for everyone to see.

Katie recalled the important event, saying that her oldest daughter and she were watching sports day with some other school mom friends.

Over the tannoy, the staff mentioned a parents race, and Tegan, her oldest, said, ‘Go on mum, you always did it for me.'”

Once they requested for parents to join in, her youngest Beau across the field was saying, ‘Come on, mom, do it,’ she said.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Another mom, and she agreed to join in, Katie said. She was dreading it but thought it was a bit of fun; why not?

Who would have guessed that what happened next would become viral in an instant?

Katie was left in ‘total astonishment’ after learning the seriousness of the scenario, considering that it was videotaped and circulated over the whole internet.

She admits that she couldn’t believe it.

She shared the video in a parenting group to make other parents laugh because it could have occurred to anyone and they all need to laugh now and then.

Mum goes viral after tripping during a parents' race at her daughter's school sports day – and mooning the crowd

You have been warned if you're gearing up for your child's school sports day this summer… This mum from Essex has gone viral after faceplanting during a parents' race at her daughter's school sports day – and mooning the crowd 😳 Luckily, Katie Hannaford saw the funny side and describes her trip as "hilarious". She said: "I'm not sporty at all, but [my daughter] kept begging me. In the end I agreed to the race – I knew I'd come last. "I just tripped over my own feet – I think my body was just moving too fast for my legs! I'm so clumsy, I'm always falling over. "I was humiliated at the time, but it is what it is! I flashed my underwear which is obviously embarrassing but you just have to own it. "Looking back, it's hilarious – definitely the funniest thing I've ever done in my life!"

From there, it was re-shared thousands of times, and she couldn’t believe her eyes when all these notifications started coming in, but it just made her laugh every time.

Talk about looking at the glass as half-full.

Parents are already cringe-worthy to their children; it’s a reality of life that cannot be avoided.

When you add some heavy mooning and a viral face-plant flop, the concept of an embarrassed mother is taken to a whole new level.

Katie remarked of her daughter’s response to the failure of the sports day that she believed it was hilarious. She claimed that everyone at school was talking about it, although it was excellent fun.

Like mother, like daughter.

Katie remembered, When it first took place, had so many parents come and say ‘Well done, good on ya, you’re a good sport’ etc.’

Now, Katie’s kid is in a different school, so, happily, ‘no one is aware of it’.

And, the thing we’ve all been waiting to know since the mistake last summer: has Katie gotten the chance to participate in any more sports days since then?

No, she hasn’t, and she has promised her daughters she’ll never do another ‘parents race’ again.

At her daughter’s dance competition, there was recently a parent dance. When they said that, the girls looked at me and replied, “No, mom.”

She agreed to give it a miss! That’s understandable.

And what about this year’s sports day?

Absolutely not! Katie said that as much as it was enjoyable, she believes her running days are over!

However, a fantastic effort.
