Tina Turner’s £58 million Swiss weekend getaway is apparently being converted into a museum.
The spacious home in Stäfa is just 30 minutes away from the mansion she had with her husband, Erwin Bach, on the shores of Lake Zurich.
Following Tina’s death last week at the age of 83, it is now being reported that her widower intends to use it to display artifacts from the late superstar’s career.
In September 2021, the couple acquired the century-old, 260,000-square-foot property in the town of Staefa.
In the affluent neighborhood that also houses tennis great Roger Federer, the gorgeous property includes its own pond, stream, swimming pool, and boat deck.
The hideaway might potentially be used to showcase souvenirs from her career.
It came as news broke that the city of Brownsville, Tennessee, where Tina Turner was born, is currently building a monument in her honor.
Bill Rawls Jr., the city’s mayor, recently said that he intends to have a monument to the late hitmaker built in her honor, and that he has already received backing from local authorities.
Turner’s monument would most likely be situated in Brownsville’s Heritage Park, not far from Carver High School, where she spent her adolescent years.
Mayor Rawls also gave the outlet a statement on what the project will mean to Brownsville citizens.
When Tina took the stage, she owned it. He said that they desire this monument to symbolize that devotion.
He went on to briefly examine the late singer’s influence on the people of her city.
Tina was a source of inspiration for the whole globe. She demonstrated to the people of Brownsville that no matter where you begin, one owns one’s narrative of where one finishes up, he added.
Brownsville also houses the Tina Turner Museum, which is devoted to her life and work.
Mayor Rawls did not specify a timeframe or an estimated date for the memorial’s erection.
Turner died on Wednesday at her home in Zurich, Switzerland.
The artist, who was suffering from a variety of diseases at the time of her death, died of natural causes.
Bernard Doherty, the singer’s publicist, said that the singer’s influence on the music business will be long-lasting.
The world has lost a music icon and a role model in her, he remarked.
Turner talked to The Guardian only one month before her death about how she wanted to be remembered.
She remarked that she wanted her followers to remember her as “the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.” As a woman who demonstrated to other women that it is OK to pursue success on their own terms.
The late artist talked about getting older and being positive in her latter years. She added that this is life’s entire experience, and she welcomes and embraces what it offers every day.
