Betty Booze is the elder sister of Blake Lively’s sparkling mixer brand, Betty Buzz.
On Thursday, the actress, 35, debuted a new collection of canned beverages. Though Lively admits that “drinking isn’t my thing,” she claims she was motivated to make the spiked seltzers since she often prepares drinks for her friends and family.
“These are the recipes I’ve been making for loved ones for years. But I have 4 kids now. And I’m tired. So here they are in a can. Enjoy. Responsibly…ish,” stated Lively, who just gave birth to her fourth kid with husband Ryan Reynolds. They also have three daughters: James, eight, Inez, six, and Betty, three.
On Wednesday, the It Ends With Us actress also moved to Instagram to commemorate Betty Booze with amusing photographs and insights into the creative process. The sparkling tequila with lime shiso, the sparkling tequila with oak-smoked lemonade, and the sparkling bourbon with apple ginger sour cherry were the first varieties released by the firm.
“Drinking isn’t my thing. But for f* sake, flavor is,” she wrote. “Homemade recipes. Real fruit. Real ingredients. Quality booze. No crap. Also a real-time saver. Which is why I really did it.”
In the Instagram photo, the former Gossip Girl star can be seen holding a silver cloche open with one hand, with the three new varieties of canned drinks sitting on a serving plate. Lively is dressed in a white open shirt with a matching bow tie, white gloves, and black pants, as if she were a server.
Famous friends, like model Gigi Hadid, left encouraging messages on the actress’ post.
“Drinking ain’t your thing, but when you make a drink for someone else, best bet they’re having a good time (me, I’m someone else),” Hadid, 28, said.
Lively is a fan of Betty Booze’s sophisticated new tastes. “How do you know I made these recipes?” Part 1: There’s butter. “In lemonade,” Lively described the unusual combo. “It’s my secret. But today I’m a sellout. So now it’s your secret.”
Lively’s love of baking with whiskey inspired the bourbon can. “It’s really f—ing delicious,” she claimed of the lime-flavored tequila. And if there’s one thing I never compromise on, it’s that. It has taste. And husbands. Ok that’s two things.”
Betty Booze comes in 4-packs for $15. They’re accessible at supermarkets such as Total Wine, where Lively’s mother proudly photographed the display.
Customers have just one request from Lively: “Please, please drink chilled.” Please. It will upset me if you don’t.”
